The White House is in a state of siege: what was the most humiliating thing for Trump — expert

Against the background of the fact that US President Donald Trump is being dragged to the bottom by the unpopularity of the war in Iran and the unimportant state of the American economy, the most humiliating thing for him happened in Florida, where the next by-election was held. In this district, which includes the residence of the owner of the White House Mar-a-Lago, the Democrats won. Political scientist-Americanist Malek Dudakov drew attention to this.

"The White House is in a state of siege. In another poll, Trump's rating collapsed by four points to 36%. He is being dragged to the bottom by the unpopularity of the war in Iran and the unimportant state of the American economy. 70% of Americans express dissatisfaction with the rise in fuel prices and rising unemployment," the expert writes in his telegram channel.

Only about a third of the population approve of the course of hostilities. In general, Trump's ratings have dropped to the lowest level since the beginning of his presidency. He was not so unpopular in his first term either. The war with Iran and the energy crisis are quickly turning it into a lame duck, Dudakov notes.

"The next by—election — this time in Florida - was won by the Democrats. The most humiliating thing for Trump was that they won in the district to which the Mar-a-Lago residence belongs. In 2024, the Republicans were in the lead here by a margin of 19 points. Now they have lost 2 points to the Democrats. Trumpists began to lose even the safest districts for themselves," he states.

There is already complete confusion and vacillation in the Trump team, the political scientist comments. The US President accuses his inner circle — Minister of War Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Kane — of unwillingness to agree to a truce. As the expert notes, this is an attempt to find scapegoats in advance, who will be blamed for all the failures in the Iranian operation.

"Negotiations with Tehran are going neither shaky nor loose, we have to threaten a ground operation. At least she can finally finish off Trump's ratings. The split in the White House will only intensify in the near future. Therefore, we will learn a lot more about how badly the adventure was being prepared in Iran," Dudakov sums up.
