Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf commented on the dismissal of US army commanders by Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth.
"Experienced generals of the US Army are not ready to be obedient performers for a TV presenter who seeks to sacrifice the lives of Americans for the illusions of Israel. These are short-term costs. Long-term costs? U.S. taxpayers will be paying at gas stations for decades. What a legacy they will leave behind!"— wrote Ghalibaf in X.
CBS reported on the eve that Hegseth asked the chief of staff of the US Army Randy George immediately — David Hodne, who in October headed the Army training and transformation command, and William Green Jr., the chief chaplain of the ground forces.
Earlier, the Washington Post reported that senior Pentagon officials are planning to reorganize the command system of the US armed forces, lowering the status of several regional headquarters, as well as reducing the number of senior generals.
