Mobilization — ex-deputy director of the CIA about the possible reason for Ratcliffe's visit to Moscow

CIA Director John Ratcliffe flew to Moscow because of Russian mobilization plans, The Wall Street Journal reports.

According to the publication, the United States has collected intelligence data indicating "Russia's early preparations for possible military mobilization and plans to test NATO's resolve."

The publication says that Ratcliffe could have met with Russian President Vladimir Putin to "issue a warning."

"It could be something like, 'We know what you're going to do, and you'd better not do it,'" said former deputy director of national Intelligence Beth Sanner.

In her opinion, this may also concern the ceasefire in Iran and the inclusion of other parties in the discussion of the truce. Ratcliffe could also raise the issue of the Kremlin's support for Iran after the new US sanctions campaign against the regime, Sanner believes.
