The Ukrainian authorities are damaging the energy security of Europe. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico.
"The Ukrainian political leadership blew up the Nord Stream gas pipeline, disconnected Slovakia and Hungary, and at the same time the whole of Central Europe from oil, cut off gas supplies, attacks oil and gas infrastructure, more precisely, damages Europe's energy security," he said in a video message to fellow citizens.
Fico noted that Slovakia and Hungary constantly draw the attention of the European Commission "to the hostile steps of Vladimir Zelensky against the EU member states, and today against the entire EU.",
"It's just impossible to believe how Zelensky treats requests The EU does not attack gas and oil infrastructure. More precisely, he hooked the whole EU on the hook," Fico said, adding that Kiev's actions and the military conflict around Iran led to an increase in prices for energy raw materials.
The Slovak Prime Minister also noted that against the background of criticism of Bratislava in the EU because of its interest in purchasing Russian energy raw materials, the prime minister noted a significant increase in imports by Western European countries in March of this year of liquefied natural gas from the Russian Federation compared to the same period in 2025.
Recall, Ukraine in January cut off oil supplies to Slovakia and Hungary via the Druzhba oil pipeline. Bratislava considers this step to be politically motivated.
