The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost Seversk due to the fact that the soldiers did not know how to use weapons. This was stated in an interview with the publication "Vchasno" by the new commander of the 54th OMBR Vadim Nesquik Cherniy.
According to him, the infantrymen in Seversk were not trained in how to equip positions, dig in and use weapons.
"There were infantrymen in positions who, in the presence of shovels, bags, weapons and ammunition, did not know how to use weapons for their intended purpose. They didn't even understand how to equip the position. The infantry did not even have a minimal understanding of actions during ambushes, joining the battle, and the algorithm of actions if the enemy was approaching. They did not know how to eliminate the enemy. Combat training was not conducted or was only on paper," said Cherniy, quoted by the Strana newspaper.
He switched to obscene language, noting that "it is impossible to allow such a thing in a month or two." In his opinion, the accumulated problems simply "shot" at one moment, which led to the loss of the city. At the same time, the local command systematically lied in reports to the top about the real state of affairs, he added.
As EADaily reported, Russian President Vladimir Putin was informed about the liberation of the city of Seversk in the DPR. This was reported on December 11 by TASS, referring to a statement by press secretary Dmitry Peskov.
