The new version of the film "Courier" — one of the most famous films of the People's Artist of Russia, director Karen Shakhnazarov will be shot for the 40th anniversary of the original picture. This is reported by TASS with reference to the Kinoteka film company.

"The Courier film is being prepared for launch in Moscow — a new look at the cult story in the current realities of today. < The release is scheduled for the first quarter of 2027," the company said.

Filming of the new version of the film will begin in June this year, the cast is still kept secret. The film will be directed by Ilya Ermolov ("Surgeon", "Golden Bottom").

"We are not re-shooting a cult film, but with a new look we are approaching the film adaptation of Karen Georgievich's novel of the same name. Today, young people, just as then, face a difficult life choice. It is curious to go this way with our heroes, watching them search for themselves. The courier profession, which has evolved into one of the most popular during this time, is also of interest," Yermolov explained.

The film "Kuryev" was released in 1987, becoming one of the leaders and gathering about 50 million viewers. In 2020, the picture was re-released. The main roles in the film were played by Fedor Dunaevsky, Anastasia Nemolyaeva, Inna Churikova, Oleg Basilashvili and other artists.
