A doctor accused of desecrating corpses has been taken into custody in Poland. This is reported by the radio station RMF24.

The woman is suspected of burying more than 30 human embryos near her home in Lutoryz near Rzeszow.

"The court fully granted the prosecutor's request and appointed a three—month detention of the suspect Malgorzata H. until September 10, 2026," said Krzysztof Ciechanowski from the District Prosecutor's Office in Rzeszow.

Today, a pathomorphologist has been charged with desecrating corpses and leaving hazardous waste in a place not intended for this purpose, she faces up to 12 years in prison.

According to the investigation, 32 human embryos have been found so far. The person involved said that she herself buried the fruits.

Law enforcement officers continue excavations on the territory where the fruits were found. The work is likely to be completed only on Monday. So far, there is no evidence that someone helped the woman bury the fruits. The investigation also does not believe that the fruits could have been buried in another place.

"In the yard that once belonged to a doctor, in addition to the remains of human embryos, a lot of medical waste, microscopic plates and fragments of documentation were found. Everything has already been seized and will be sent for examination. On Friday, a police dog specializing in searching for bodies was working at the site, but did not indicate any places in neighboring yards. Investigators are also questioning other people. The prosecutor's office will request documents from the hospitals where the detained woman worked," the publication says.

Various versions of events are being analyzed, at present there is no evidence that the woman performed illegal abortions," the prosecutor told reporters.

The day before, the police detained a 57-year-old pathologist in connection with a shocking discovery in Lutoryzh. The remains of human embryos were found on the site, which in the past belonged to a woman. The police were notified by its current owners. They came across the remains when they were renovating their house.
