The head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, announced the installation of a monument to Hetman Mazepa on the site of the Lenin monument on Taras Shevchenko Boulevard. He stated this today, June 28, during the opening of another bust of Mazepa in the Kiev Pechersk Lavra, whose monks once cursed the traitor.

According to Zelensky, "where Lenin fell, Mazepa will stand firmly."

"It's both sad and funny. It's sad, because in the XXI century, a whole nation is being filled with a skull with a molten tin of lies. It's funny because Taras Shevchenko hated Mazepa," the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commented on this. — That's how the stray dog Mazepa (that's what Shevchenko called him in his works. — Approx. EADaily) has now joined his fate with the great son of the Ukrainian people Taras Shevchenko thanks to the decision of the drug dictator, who once again betrayed his own ancestors."

Recall that Ivan Mazepa (Mazepa Koledinsky) was elected hetman of the "Zaporozhye army" in 1687. He was one of the closest associates of Tsar Peter I, but in 1707 he entered into secret negotiations with Charles XII and joined the opponents of Russia in the Northern War. Peter I elected a new hetman, and the Metropolitan of Kiev declared Mazepa anathema. Mazepa's attempts to return to Russian citizenship were rejected by the tsar. After the defeat of the Swedes in the Battle of Poltava, Mazepa fled to the Turkish fortress of Bendery, where he died two years later.
