Kosachev: The peace agreement on Ukraine will be written in blood and gunpowder

This was stated in an interview with the publication "Arguments and Facts" by Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev. He noted that now the front "is moving in the direction of Kiev, and not vice versa."

"In the end, everything will be decided at the negotiating table. It's just that the documents that will fall on this table will be written with blood and gunpowder on the line of combat contact," the politician stressed.

He expressed confidence that the final agreements will be "very different" from those that were agreed in Istanbul in April 2022. And these differences will be "not in favor of Ukraine."

The senator stressed that then Kiev "irretrievably missed" its chance to end the conflict with minimal losses, for which it can now "thank" its foreign sponsors.

Kosychev noted that the Europeans "drove themselves into a corner" when they bet on Russia's strategic defeat.

In response to a request to comment on the Kiev regime's attacks on Russian energy infrastructure facilities, the politician admitted that they lead to serious costs from the point of view of people's normal lives.

"But still this factor is not decisive. I am absolutely sure that it will not be possible to rock the situation inside Russia, which our opponents are betting on, by creating problems in the same fuel market," the vice speaker concluded.

As EADaily reported, earlier Konstantin Kosachev said that Russia is ready for negotiations on a peaceful settlement, but cannot compromise on the issue of eliminating the root causes of the outbreak of the Ukrainian armed conflict.
