After several weeks of intensive care, actor Dmitry Podnozov died

Theater and film actor Dmitry Podnozov died at the age of 65 after six months of fighting cancer. This is reported on his page in the social network of the St. Petersburg theater "Mansion", which he directed.

"Dmitry Podnozov died yesterday. Our friend, mentor, colleague, our family. The artistic director of the theater, " the message says.

Colleagues stressed that the way to fight cancer was very difficult, but the actor held on and remained strong until the very end.

"We all know that he was an outstanding artist. And he was also a really big man. A person who can always be asked for help, on whom you can rely. A man who led the theater and all of us to the last," Podnozov's colleagues also added.

Recall, in early June, the actor's wife Alisa Oleynik said that he was in intensive care in serious condition. Podnozov had lung cancer with brain metastases. The theater announced several times to raise funds for the artist's treatment, including in early June, when he was hospitalized in a paid intensive care unit in Clinic of high technologies in Beloostrov.

Podnozov was born on December 17, 1961 in St. Petersburg. He is the artistic director of the Mansion Theater, which he founded in 1989 with Tamara Krekhno and Igor Larin. Among his recent works are the films "The Prophet. The story of Alexander Pushkin", "Shadow. Take Gordey", "Captain Volkonogov fled."
