Russian historian and publicist Artyom Kirpichenka was arrested in Israel. This was reported by publicist and former State Duma deputy Daria Mitina.
According to her information, the Brick was detained by the Israeli General Security Service (SHABAK), now he is in custody. Mitina clarified that Kirpichenka has dual citizenship — Russia and Israel.
International journalist Oleg Yasinsky previously noted that Kirpichenok has not been in touch since arriving in Israel on August 2. The historian arrived in the country on a flight from Yerevan, intending to spend several days in Israel.
Russian Ambassador to Tel Aviv Anatoly Viktorov told TASS that there had been no appeals from relatives, relatives and colleagues of the "allegedly detained" orientalist Kirpichenko.
"Nevertheless, we sent a corresponding request to the competent Israeli authorities. We keep this issue under control," his comments say.
Artyom Kirpichenok was born in 1975 in Leningrad. He graduated from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, served in the army, having lived in Israel for about 15 years, after which he returned to Russia. In 2022, the historian published the popular science book "Hungary-1956: a Different View", and in 2024-2025 he published the work "Israel: The Path to Disaster", dedicated to the origins of the Middle East conflict.
