Ekaterina Lobacheva, the head of X5, which develops the Pyaterochka, Perekrestok and Chizhik networks, asked President Vladimir Putin to lift a serious restriction. Details are provided by RBC.

Lobacheva's letter to the head of state says that Russia's food security will benefit from the abolition of the standard prohibiting retail chains from opening new stores in a region or municipality where their share already exceeds 25%.

According to the head of the company, this threshold of the market share of networks provokes supply disruptions, which in the conditions of attacks on the logistics infrastructure prevents the most operational restructuring of supply chains. Not only large businesses suffer, but also small and medium-sized businesses that are unable to open outlets in hard-to-reach areas where population density is low.

In particular, X5 wants, but cannot open new Chizhik discounters in some regions of Russia.
