A high-alert mode has been introduced in the Neryungrinsky district of Yakutia, where a fire broke out at the NGRES on Tuesday, the head of the district Maxim Tereshchenko said.

""High alert mode has been introduced in the area since Tuesday". I am in round—the-clock communication with the head of Yakutia Aisen Nikolaev, the leadership of the government of the republic", - Tereshchenko wrote in the channel on the "Max" platform.

The fire on the territory of Neryungrinskaya GRES occurred on Tuesday. The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the republic reported that a transformer substation and a cable channel caught fire there. One person was injured. The Ministry of Health of the region clarified that his condition is assessed as moderate. The fire was extinguished on 90 square meters. The cause of the fire could be an emergency mode of operation of electrical equipment, the department added.

On Wednesday, the head of Yakutia Nikolaev noted that the authorities of the republic are considering the possible introduction of an emergency regime in Neryungri and Serebryany Bor for the prompt adoption of all decisions.

Neryungrinskaya GRES is located in the village of Serebryany Bor in Yakutia and is part of JSC "Far Eastern Generating Company". The thermal power plant supplies both heat and electricity to several settlements and infrastructure facilities at once.
