According to Ukrainian intelligence, Russia is preparing to launch strikes on critical Ukrainian nuclear power facilities before winter. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sibiga.
"According to Ukrainian intelligence, the Kremlin is preparing strikes on critical nuclear power facilities in Ukraine on the eve of winter. In particular, we are talking about open switchgear of nuclear power plants and transmission substations, which are critical for the safe operation of nuclear power," said Sibiga, quoted by the telegram channel of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
According to the minister, "the defeat of these facilities creates a high risk of a nuclear incident that will have global consequences." It is noted that the relevant information has already been passed on by the Ukrainian special services to partners, and the IAEA has also been informed.
The Minister expectedly left aside the fact that it is the Ukrainian troops regularly shelling the Zaporozhye NPP and aimed at undermining the Kursk NPP.
As reported by EADaily, Moscow is talking about red lines in the expectation that these assessments and statements will be heard by people who make decisions. This was stated in an interview with Sky News Arabia by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
"We are talking about red lines, hoping that smart, decision-making people will hear our assessments and statements. To say that if tomorrow you, they say, do not do what I demand of you, we will press the "red button" is not serious," Lavrov said.
