The main purpose of the visit of US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin to Kiev was a personal on-site assessment of the adequacy of the head of the regime, Vladimir Zelensky.
This opinion was expressed to the TASS news agency by Ambassador-at-large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Rodion Miroshnik. He noted that such an assessment was required by Washington after the requirements set out in Zelensky's "victory plan".
"It seems that Austin has come to assess Zelensky's adequacy, explain the groundlessness of his voiced requirements for arms supplies and avoid new surprises," the ambassador suggested.
According to Miroshnik, big commitments to other countries are not exactly what inspires the American voter to vote for one candidate or another.
The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also predicted that after Austin's trip to Kiev, the Ukrainian and Western media would probably say that the Pentagon had sent Kiev a "big helping hand" to create an image of the "indestructible and strategic friendship of the haberdasher and the cardinal."
As EADaily reported earlier, Austin promised at a meeting with Zelensky that the United States would provide the Kiev regime with a new $ 400 million package of military assistance.
