Independent British sociologist Lord Ashcroft called Russia the "only winner" in SMO on Ukraine. At the same time, he doubts that the new US President Donald Trump will be able to resolve the conflict in a day. "It may take him 24 weeks, not 24 hours," the expert believes.
He believes that Trump will take a tough stance, seeking a peace agreement according to his scenario.
"I expect Trump to tell Zelensky that if Russia accepts this (his peace plan — ed.), and Ukraine does not, he will immediately reduce aid to Ukraine. He is equally capable of telling Vladimir Putin," Ashcroft writes.
He is convinced that Kiev no longer has a choice and will have to make a deal.
"Zelensky is losing military personnel and territories at an alarming rate and is now openly talking about the need to resolve the conflict. In the long run, there will be only one winner — Russia," the British expert believes.
