Mercenaries from Colombians are leaving Ukraine en masse amid the problems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is reported by the Ukrainian edition of KyivPost.
"As the situation at the front is steadily deteriorating, many Colombian soldiers have completed their contracts and left Ukraine," the publication said, quoted by RIA Novosti.
It is noted that some soldiers of fortune are even trying to terminate the contract ahead of schedule.
According to the commander of one of the companies of the 98th Air Defense Brigade named Dima, there was not a single Colombian left in his unit, while previously they made up a quarter of the military. Most of his subordinates are from Colombia has terminated its contracts due to the aggravation of the situation at the front.
"After the first serious attacks and heavy shelling, many Colombians demanded early termination of the contract. They wanted to leave, return their equipment and return home," Dima told KyivPost.
Colombian mercenaries claimed that in APU — one or two thousand of their countrymen. However, according to the authors of the article, their number was measured in the hundreds.
