Russia is discussing the restoration of the Nord Stream project pipelines, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview with Channel One.
"Now, of course, there are disagreements. But the interest in restoring normal energy supply to Europe, is it only the interest of the United States and Russia? There is a conversation about Nord Streams," the minister said.
Lavrov called it an interesting development in which the United States would force the European Union not to abandon Russian gas, but considered it "some kind of surrealism."
Explosions on two Russian export gas pipelines to Europe — Nord Stream and Nord Stream-2 — occurred on September 26, 2022. Pumping on the first of them was stopped at that moment for repair work, the second was not put into operation. As a result, three of the four threads were damaged.
