A prerequisite for a 30-day truce with Kiev should be the start of negotiations. This was stated by the first deputy chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Vladimir Dzhabarov.
"I absolutely agree with the argument of [Russian Presidential spokesman Dmitry] Peskov, who said that deliveries [of weapons to Ukraine] should be stopped at this time. There is another argument: what is the truce for? A truce for the sake of a truce? A month will pass, and then what? Will something change? No, it's not. Therefore, I think that the truce must necessarily be conditioned by the start of concrete negotiations," Dzhabarov told <url>.
Meanwhile, there is no talk of any start of the negotiation process in Kiev, declaring a 30-day truce, is out of the question, the senator noted.
According to him, Kiev "just takes a break" to accumulate strength. Even without further supplies, the Ukrainian Armed Forces now have enough ammunition and other things, "they will compensate for the damage to manpower."
"Therefore, a truce for the sake of a truce is just another deception, these are the next Minsk agreements, but at a different level, nothing more," Dzhabarov summed up.
As reported by EADaily, from Monday, May 12, a full and unconditional ceasefire should begin for at least 30 days, any conditions will be considered as an attempt to disrupt the negotiations. This was stated today at the meeting of the "coalition of the willing" in Kiev by the leader of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, UNIAN reports.
