Former Deputy head of the Main Directorate of Innovative Development of the Ministry of Defense Vladimir Shesterov was sentenced to six years in prison and fined in the case of fraud during the construction of the Patriot Park.
"To find Shesterov guilty of committing fraud on an especially large scale and official forgery (part 4 of Article 159 and part 2 of Article 292 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). By partially adding up the punishments, assign him a total sentence of six years in prison with serving his sentence in a general regime colony and a fine of 500 thousand rubles," said Judge Alexei Korostelev.
In addition, Shesterov was stripped of the rank of Major General.
The defendants in the case are also the director of the Patriot Park Vyacheslav Akhmedov and the former Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia Pavel Popov. According to the case file, in 2022-2024, the defendants entered false information in the documents about the completion of construction at Patriot and stole over 25 million rubles from the Ministry of Defense.
