Azerbaijan may soon start exporting black caviar to the countries of the European Union. According to Report, this was announced by the chairman of the Board of the Public Association "Association of Fish Producers and Processors of Azerbaijan" Zaur Salmanli.
According to him, deliveries to the EU may begin at the turn of 2025-2026.
"Currently, negotiations are underway in this regard, contacts are being established. I hope that from 2026 we will be able to take full advantage of the support provided by the Ministry of Agriculture. These support mechanisms include tax exemption, technical support and other mechanisms," Salmanli said.
He noted that currently the registration of fish farms is being intensively conducted in Azerbaijan, after registration the mechanism of their management will be determined.
In 2024, the volume of fish catch increased by 1.2% compared to 2023 to 67.299 thousand tons.
