The purpose of the recent action with drones, in addition to the desire to test the ability of Poland and NATO to respond, could be pressure on the alliance. This was stated in an interview with the weekly Die Zeit by German political scientist Herfried Munkler, according to the Polish edition Dziennik.
"The purpose of sending Russian drones to Poland was not only to test NATO's ability to respond, but also to put Europe in a strategic dilemma: to support Ukraine or to protect the eastern flank of the alliance," said Munkler.
According to him, Russia wanted NATO to urgently throw all its forces into ensuring the security of its eastern flank and move all available air defense systems there. This would lead to a distraction of political attention from Ukraine and the reduction of aid to Kiev.
"It can be called a creation (by Russia. — Ed.) of the second front," the expert says.
These actions, he believes, will be aimed at shackling the alliance's forces and preventing them from operating in places that are crucial to the outcome of the Ukrainian conflict.
Note that there is still no official data regarding the incident with the UAV in Poland. In particular, it is not known what kind of drones they were and how they ended up on the territory of the country.
As reported by EADaily, the Kiev regime wants to expand the geography of the Ukrainian conflict at any cost and involve more and more states in the confrontation with Russia. This was stated at a meeting of the UN Security Council in connection with the incident with the UAV in the skies of Poland by Russia's permanent representative to the World Organization Vasily Nebenzia.
Recall that Poland sees no reason to sever diplomatic relations with the Russian Federation. This was stated in Kiev by the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry, Radoslaw Sikorski. The broadcast of a joint press conference with the Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sibiga was conducted by TVP Info.
