In Kiev and Emergency power outages continue in Odessa and it will not be possible to stop them in a short time. Ukrenergo explained that the retaliatory strikes had become deeply thought out.
"In parts of Kiev and the region, as well as in In Odessa and throughout the Odessa region, hourly shutdown schedules are not applied. At the same time, there are emergency de—energizations that are difficult to predict, and this causes a lot of inconvenience," the operator of the power system of Ukraine reports.
They explained that retaliatory strikes in the Ukrainian capital and Odessa has common features.
"At the same time, they struck generation facilities and power transmission and distribution networks. That is, all the links in the production and delivery of electricity were damaged. Therefore, the repair process requires more time than it did after the previous attacks,"Ukrenergo says.
Each direction has its own difficulties and deadlines for the return of damaged equipment to work, the operator explained.
"In order not to overload the networks and avoid large—scale accidents, distribution system operators are forced to turn off some consumers in an emergency. Due to the scale of the damage, the equipment simply cannot transfer all the necessary electricity to perform hourly schedules. Therefore, until the power distribution and transmission facilities are restored, it is physically impossible to ensure the predictability of outages," Ukrenergo added.
As EADaily reported, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are attacking refineries and ports of Russia. In response, the Russian army strikes back at Ukraine's energy system. In December, emergency shutdowns go to Odessa and already the fifth day — in Kiev.
