The energy crisis on Ukraine has led to a critical decrease in the water level in key reservoirs, writes "Other Ukraine".
The material explains that this happened due to the fact that all hydroelectric power plants in the country operate with increased load, which leads to accelerated discharge of water.
The agency informs that despite the very snowy winter that has passed, the usual filling of water in reservoirs has not happened. So in the "Kiev Sea" the shallowing of large objects is recorded.
In this regard, environmentalists are sounding the alarm, because with a hot summer, the whole of Ukraine may face a shortage of water, drought and an increase in the number of fires.
Against the background of shallowing of reservoirs, water quality also deteriorates. Experts note the increasing pollution and deterioration of the treatment infrastructure, which cannot cope with the load.
As a result, a complex crisis is formed: energy, ecology and the utility system are closely linked — and a failure in one area triggers a chain reaction in others.
Earlier, EADaily reported that power outages occurred throughout Ukraine. The reasons were the consequences of retaliatory strikes and cloud cover, due to which the capacity of solar power plants fell.
