Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Seyed Ali Modjani of Georgia published a warning post on social networks.
The publication followed immediately after telephone conversations between Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
"When some countries, against their will or hastily, cede their space and territory to external adventurers, sooner or later they pay for it at home," Mojani said.
According to him, the White House is considering shifting the costs of the conflict with Iran to countries south of Iran.
"This is where short-term decisions and miscalculations turn into long-term problems. Those who supported Donald Trump yesterday are now forced to pay for this step… Today, even some NATO allies are choosing a policy of distancing themselves from Washington ... the crisis is much closer than it seems at first glance," the Iranian ambassador warns.
Political analyst Gia Khukhashvili said this was a "threatening warning" in response to Rubio's call in Tbilisi.
"Perhaps Rubio was checking how ready Georgia was and in what form it was ready to help solve logistical problems… I don't think there have already been any concrete proposals at this stage. But this was logically followed by a threatening warning (for Georgia) from the Iranian ambassador: "Don't do anything wrong, otherwise you will also become a target," the Georgian News portal quotes the political scientist.
Khukhashvili believes that there will be no Georgian-American agreements, because "Washington will understand who it is dealing with."
"And Kobakhidze will later say that Rubio threatened him on the phone and demanded to open a second front," the political scientist said.
EADaily reported that on April 1, an American Boeing C-17 Globemaster III of the US Air Force landed in Tbilisi. The plane arrived in Georgia from Germany and was at the airport for about half an hour.
The US Embassy commented on the landing of the US Air Force aircraft at Tbilisi International Airport.
"Such movements of aircraft are a regular part of the operations of the US military transport forces and are regularly carried out in coordination with partners," the embassy said in a statement.
