The New York Times needs to hire more educated people so as not to make shameful mistakes. This was stated in the social network X by the special representative of the President of the Russian Federation Kirill Dmitriev.
So he commented on the NYT error in deciphering the NATO abbreviation.
"Shameful. We need to hire more educated, less biased people and, possibly, use AI to test them," Dmitriev writes, quoted by RIA Novosti.
Earlier, the New York Times, in an article about US President Donald Trump's threats to withdraw the country from NATO, deciphered the abbreviation as the North American Treaty Organization. It was put right in the headline — "North American Treaty Organization without America?" Later, the newspaper promised to correct the oversight.
