Near the pipeline from An explosive device was found in Serbia to Hungary, through which Russian gas flows. This was announced today, April 5, by Serbian leader Alexander Vucic.

"I have just finished a telephone conversation with Prime Minister Viktor Orban, whom I have acquainted with the first results of the investigation of our military-police bodies in connection with threats to the critical gas infrastructure that connects Serbia and Hungary. Our units found explosives of great destructive power and detonators," he wrote on his page in one of their social networks.

According to him, the bomb was found in the autonomous province of Vojvodina in the north of the country near the highway that delivers gas from the Turkish Stream to Serbia and Hungary.

"Service dogs and our army and police found this morning near the village of Velebit, a few hundred meters from the gas pipeline, as it is called "Turkish", "Southern", "Balkan" stream, two backpacks, two large packages of explosives with detonators, there are other traces, now an inspection is being carried out on the spot," — said Vucic.

He specified that helicopters also took part in the detection of explosives and expressed the hope that the explosives would be safely defused.

"If there was a gas pipeline explosion here, Hungary would not receive gas, and we are in the north of Serbia. Later we can talk about the details, but the army, first of all, the Military Security Agency (VBA, military counterintelligence — ed.), everyone who has received the task of protecting the key gas infrastructure, will notify about it," the Serbian leader said.

He recalled that the compressor station of this gas pipeline in central Serbia is guarded and protected as the cities of Kragujevac and Nis.

In turn, after a conversation with Vucic, Orban said he would hold an emergency meeting of the defense council on Sunday.

"I just finished a phone conversation with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic. Serbian authorities have discovered a powerful explosive device and the means to activate it at the most important gas infrastructure facility connecting Serbia and Hungary. The investigation is ongoing. I have convened an emergency meeting of the Defense Council this afternoon," he said.

Recall, Budapest on February 18 stopped the supply of diesel to Kiev, and on February 20 blocked the provision of a loan to Kiev from the European Union of 90 billion euros. This was a response to the Kiev regime stopping the pumping of Russian oil through the Druzhba pipeline at the end of January. After that, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto urged to be prepared for the fact that Ukraine in the near future will intensively attack the Turkish Stream, which is crucial for gas supplies, in order to completely disrupt the country's energy supply.
