Finnish President Alexander Stubb was relieved after the defeat of Viktor Orban's party in the Hungarian elections. This is reported by Ilta-Sanomat.
The election was won by the more pro-European opposition party Tisa, which received a two-thirds majority in parliament, the newspaper recalls. For supporters of liberal values in the international arena, this is a "huge relief," Stubb said, commenting on the results of the elections in Hungary.
"I've been smiling for the last four days," he admitted.
He shared this intimate moment at an event at Carleton University in Ottawa, answering a question from the audience. Stubb made it clear that he views the election result as a positive signal for Europe.
As reported by EADaily, the leader of the Tisa party, Peter Magyar, who won the elections in Hungary, will quickly disappoint Brussels. This was stated by the editor-in-chief of the Polish magazine Do Rzeczy Pavel Lisicki.
