Australian and American actress, singer, producer and UNICEF Goodwill ambassador Nicole Kidman admitted that she was going through a period of "obsession with everything Russian." She stated this in an interview with the YouTube podcast Las Culturistas.
This period occurred in her youth, then the actress read the works of Russian authors. Kidman started with the works of Fyodor Dostoevsky, after which she moved on to the works of Leo Tolstoy.
"I was just obsessed with Russians. I had a list of 100 books that everyone should read," recalls the star.
Passion for Russian literature resulted in a trip to St. Petersburg, where Kidman saw the places described in "War and Peace", and even the "apartment" of Prince Andrei Bolkonsky.
"I used to read and think, 'How is this possible?'" says the actress.
According to her, it was Russian authors who stood at the origins of her creative path.
As reported by EADaily, in October last year it became known that Australian singer Keith Urban will receive $ 11 million in the process of divorce from 58-year-old Kidman. This amount is due to the artist for giving up drugs.
In the marriage contract, the couple was spelled out that for every year of living together, when the singer did not use drugs, Urban receives $ 600 thousand. The couple has been married for about 19 years.
