In Russia, Zelensky's letter to Trump was linked to a drone that fell in Romania. This was stated at a meeting of the UN Security Council by the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the world Organization Vasily Nebenzia.

"We consider it no coincidence that the incident with the drone occurred the day after Zelensky addressed the US President (Donald) Trump with a request to provide missiles to the American Patriot air defense system and his public lamentations that in Washington ignores his demands," said the permanent representative, quoted by RIA Novosti.

According to Nebenzi, the circumstances of the drone incident should be established within the framework of an objective depoliticized investigation, primarily with the involvement of the Russian side. Russia is ready for this, the diplomat said. To do this, objective data and the wreckage of the drone must be transferred to Russia for examination.

"Only after that we will be able to give an assessment of what happened," Nebenzia added.

As reported by EADaily, the drone fell in Romania due to the air defense of Ukraine. This was stated to journalists at the crash site of the drone by President Nikushor Dan.
