The founder of Pink Floyd made a non-standard statement about Russia

The founder of the Pink Floyd rock band Roger Waters made a statement about Russia that was unusual for a representative of the Western world.

"I am concerned that some people in the governments of the United States, the United Kingdom and the European Union are issuing heartbreakingly bloodthirsty statements about the possibility of hostilities with Russia, especially in Germany," he said in an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson, which is available on YouTube.

Waters recalled that European countries are trying to ensure that 5% of the GDP of European countries is sent to "big piggy banks" to fight the onslaught of Russia.

"The Russians don't want to invade Europe, what are they talking about? But they say it, and they say it publicly. Who knows why they do it?", — the musician wonders.

According to Waters, Western politicians want what is beneficial to them, "it's just greed."

"It's just that when you drag an entire continent into a war in which, by definition, it cannot win, you risk the lives of millions of people. I mean, it's a big step to do something like that. And it's crazy," the rocker is sure.

As EADaily reported, in November last year Waters urged people in the West to "wake up" and stop believing propaganda about the Ukrainian conflict.

"The feeble-minded European leadership and people in the EU, the European Union are now talking about sending troops to Ukraine, NATO troops. They talk about escalation. And there was all this talk about providing Ukraine with Tomahawks. It's the stupidest thing I've ever heard in my life," he said.
