The head of Crimea Sergey Aksenov made a statement to the residents of the peninsula, explaining the actions of the authorities, based on the shortage of motor fuel. Gasoline can no longer be bought either in cash or by coupons.

"In connection with the situation that has arisen due to the shortage of automobile fuel on the peninsula, a number of management measures have been taken," he said, addressing the residents. — Starting today, the sale of gasoline for cash will be completely restricted for several days. There are no coupons for free sale and will not be in the near future.
According to previously purchased coupons, fuel will be sold in 20 liters in one hand. In order to comply with the rule of law and justice, as well as to curb abuses, an agreement was reached with fuel market operators that officials from among the leadership of municipalities and republican departments will be on duty at each gas station, who will record the numbers of cars of individuals and legal entities that will be refueled using coupons.
All utilities, ambulance, law enforcement agencies and public transport are provided with fuel in full. Departments have optimized the use of vehicles, up to one car per ministry.
We will work in this mode for several days, and we will update up-to-date information daily.
The authorities of the Republic of Crimea will ensure a fair distribution of petroleum products. We maintain constant contact with the Governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Vladimirovich Razvozhaev, and coordinate response measures to ensure equal conditions for residents of Crimea and Sevastopol.
I ask Crimeans to understand the situation. In the current difficult conditions, it is important to maintain mutual trust, which has helped us to pass all the tests with dignity since 2014. Only together we will overcome all difficulties."

Earlier today, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said at the St. Petersburg Economic Forum that the Russian fuel market is stable.

"Currently, the situation is stable. And the prices at the gas stations of vertically integrated companies and most gas stations are at a level not higher than inflation. Therefore, the government, together with the Federal Antimonopoly Service and the Ministry of Energy, will closely monitor this," he said amid reports of gasoline outages from at least 15 Russian regions, including Moscow and St. Petersburg.

At the beginning of the week, restrictions on the purchase of fuel at gas stations, which had previously arisen in In Crimea, as a result of the shelling of the Novorossia highway by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and regular strikes on refineries and oil terminals, they reached New Moscow. At city gas stations, "until further notice," they stopped selling more than 60 liters of gasoline in one hand (and no more than 100 liters of diesel fuel). Shortly before that, similar restrictions appeared at individual gas stations in St. Petersburg. The day before, fuel supply disruptions were also encountered in Moscow region. In total, since the end of May, various restrictions on the sale of gasoline have been introduced in at least 20 regions (including Novorossiya).
