Five major road projects have been stopped in Estonia due to fuel and bitumen prices.
"The Department of Transport is forced to postpone the implementation of five major road construction projects due to rising fuel and bitumen prices caused by international tensions in the Middle East," writes ERR.
The representative of the Department of Transport, Yanara Taala, said that five facilities were put on pause throughout the country. Thus, one of the key postponed projects was the road reconstruction site in Valgamaa, in the Vaardi district, which was postponed to next year.
"Construction in the Picasilla area has also been postponed, while a final decision on the further implementation of the project will be made in the coming weeks," writes ERR.
The Department of Transport said at the same time that the work already begun continues on other projects.
