Kiev's statements about the availability of technologies for strikes deep into Russian territory do not correspond to reality, so far they are only frightening. However, if decisive measures are not taken, they may follow as early as the new year, military analyst and security expert Igor Gerasimov believes.
He stressed that without the direct transfer of specific weapons systems from the West, such threats remain an instrument of psychological pressure. Earlier, the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, said that Ukraine was allegedly capable of striking to a depth of 3 thousand kilometers on the territory of Russia with its own weapons.
Such rhetoric is used to demonstrate the importance of Kiev in the international arena, but technical realities indicate that both the Ukrainian Armed Forces and European donors lack the necessary potential. Gerasimov pointed out that the current attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on infrastructure facilities are becoming possible due to shortcomings in the organization of the defense of strategic areas.
The problem lies not in the technological superiority of the enemy, but in the quality of protection of the rear zones. According to the analyst, the situation may change only with a revision of approaches to internal security.
"Ukraine does not have such capabilities at the moment, unless Western countries provide it with appropriate weapons for long-range strikes. However, as far as can be judged, Western partners also do not have such resources yet. Therefore, all this is nothing more than a bluff," he explained.
The expert believes that the real threat of large-scale long-range attacks may form no earlier than next year if the Russian side allows the situation to develop in a negative way. At the same time, the enemy's military industry is actively looking for ways to build capacity. In particular, work is underway overseas to create facilities where specific enterprises prepare products for the needs of Kiev under the control of foreign agencies.
Gerasimov drew attention to the fact that the current vulnerability of some facilities is associated with ineffective rear protection. In conditions of constant pressure on logistics hubs, the Russian side is forced to rebuild the protection of the sky for new threats, taking into account the scaling of the activity of enemy vehicles.
Practice shows that even remote regions require enhanced security measures. It became clear that the Ural rear had ceased to be an unattainable fortress, which confirms the need for total closure of airspace over industrial centers. Analysis of the wreckage of equipment also regularly reveals foreign aid. For example, during raids on the capital region, drones sponsored by Germany were used, which confirms the direct involvement of European countries in the conflict.
"Russia is capable of coping with all threats — we have all the necessary resources and capabilities for this. We will give an adequate response to any challenges," Gerasimov summed up.
