Dirty hospitality: In Georgia, they are competing to see who gave more shit to Russian tourists

Georgia risks being left without Russian tourists because of dirty "hospitality". This is reported by the telegram channel "Nightingale Live".

A former employee of a restaurant in Tbilisi has publicly admitted that he defecated in minced meat for khinkali prepared for guests from Russia. This confession was the trigger. Users in the comments began to boast not of "Caucasian hospitality", but of deliberate sabotage like spitting in food and deliberately spoiled service.

It is noted that at the same time Georgia continues to make good money on Russian tourists. In particular, in 2024, Russian citizens brought about $ 850 million (about 68 billion) to the Caucasian country for about 1.4 million trips, and in the past the number of visitors approached 1.6 million, who left about $ 694 million (about 56 billion) in Georgia. In the first half of 2026, the Russians brought Georgia another $ 307 million (about 25 billion rubles).

"Taking money for hospitality and secretly messing up guests is not courage and not principled, but ordinary meanness… Such stories cast a shadow, first of all, on those who really honestly work in the tourism sector. But when a tourist begins to doubt his own safety and respect for himself, he simply chooses another direction. Past scandals have already reduced the tourist flow in Georgia by 4.5%. If such cases are repeated, the price for the tourism industry may be even higher," the TC concludes.

As EADaily reported, the head of the Georgian Diaspora of Russia, David Tsetskhladze, commented on a video in which a tourist's face is smashed in a Kakheti hotel for Russian speech.
