Switzerland continues to steal Russian assets — over the year the amount has grown to $ 10.4 billion.

The amount of Russian assets frozen (and in fact appropriated. — Approx. EADaily) Switzerland, in June 2026 increased to 8.5 billion Swiss francs ($ 10.4 billion). This was announced today, August 15, by TASS official representative of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs of the country (SECO) Fabian Mayenfish.

"As of June 1, 2026, financial assets worth 8.5 billion Swiss francs have been frozen in Switzerland," he said in response to the agency's request.

A year earlier, this figure was 7.4 billion Swiss francs ($ 8.4 billion).

In addition to cash, 14 real estate objects remain frozen, as well as sports and luxury cars, works of art, furniture and musical instruments belonging to individuals and organizations that have been sanctioned.

According to the representative of the secretariat, separately from this amount, the reserves and assets of the Central Bank of Russia have been immobilized in Switzerland. Their volume as of June 2026 amounted to 6.8 billion francs ($ 8.3 billion), a year earlier — 7.2 billion francs ($ 8.1 billion).

At the same time, Mayenfish evaded the question of whether Switzerland is participating in discussions on the initiative to transfer frozen Russian assets from Euroclear to a new depository organization. The EU in order to use them for the needs of Kiev.
