White House press Secretary Caroline Leavitt will leave the post at the end of the month. This is reported in the social network Truth Social by US President Donald Trump.
According to Trump, Leavitt is leaving to devote more time to his family.
The owner of the White House noted that Leavitt will become one of his external advisers and will participate in the work of the Republican Party before the midterm congressional elections.
"Our wonderful White House Press Secretary and one of my most trusted aides, Caroline Leavitt, will leave her position at the end of this month to spend more time with her beautiful young children and family - a decision that I fully understand and respect! Carolyn will now become one of my main external advisers and an influential voice in the Republican Party while we work to defy history and win a convincing victory in the midterm elections," Trump writes, quoted by the Donald Trump telegram channel in Russian.
Trump said that Leavitt "was one of the best White House press secretaries in the history of this position," and thanked her for a "great job done."
He did not specify who Leavitt's successor would be.
