Berlin supports Kiev's direct participation in any peace talks. This was stated by the speaker of the German Foreign Ministry Catherine Deschauer.
"In the end, it is Ukraine that will decide which world is acceptable for it. But this, of course, is possible only when those directly concerned play a key role," she said.
Deschauer recalled that Berlin has consistently advocated the involvement of Ukraine in any diplomatic process to end hostilities. According to her, "the relevant negotiations, of course, should take place with the involvement of the Ukrainians themselves." Deschauer considered this "the right approach."
Earlier it became known about the possibility of holding a trilateral meeting of the leaders of China, Russia and the United States. Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump and Xi Jinping may discuss the Ukrainian conflict on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, which will be held on November 18 and 19 in Shenzhen, China.
