The press service of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko disclosed information on his incomes in 2017. According to these data, they amounted to almost 16,304 million hryvnia.
"Petro Poroshenko's total income was UAH 16,303,874 in 2017. In particular, Poroshenko earned a salary of UAH 336,000, which he totally donates to charity every year, and earned UAH 15.8 million as interest on bank deposits," the statement said.
It is noted that these and other data can be found in the electronic declaration of the president for 2017, which was made public on Friday. At the same time, the information provokes distrust not only among the population, but also among experts.
According to political analyst Dmitry Korneychuk, the president's tax returns, to put it mildly, is not realistic.
"Poroshenko filed a declaration for 2017. His income is 16.3 million UAH, 336 thousand UAH of these is salary. And 15.8 million UAH of interest from deposits. That is, Poroshenko did not earn a penny on Roshen, as well as on his own bank and the dairy factory, which became the largest in the country, did he? And where did all the profits of Roshen go? To the offshore? Poroshenko's declaration is all you need to know about the fight against corruption in Ukraine ... ", the expert wrote on his Facebook page.
Also the amount that the president spent on charity causes critical remarks.
"The president press service has pathetically reported: Poroshenko had spent 800 million UAH on charity for three years. But this information is not in the declarations, because Poroshenko made "charity" through his fund. Those who personally know Poroshenko and his pathological greed can sincerely laugh with this information. However, PR managers of the president could also compose large sums for charity. For example - a trillion hryvnia. Ukrainians know only two real charitable actions of Poroshenko. This is the war in the Donbass and his trip to the Maldives for half a million dollars,” Korneichuk summarized.
