APU hit the beach near Gelendzhik: civilians were killed

The Ukrainian Armed Forces struck drones on the beach in the village of Arkhipo-Osipovka near Gelendzhik in Krasnodar region. Civilians were killed. This is reported by Kuban 24.

According to the latest data, six people were killed in the attack, including three children. About 40 people were injured, 17 of them are being treated in medical institutions of Gelendzhik, Tuapse district and Goryachy Klyuch. They receive all the necessary medical care.

The governor of the Krasnodar Territory Veniamin Kondratiev expressed his condolences to the families of the victims. He also instructed Gelendzhik Mayor Alexei Bogodistov to provide comprehensive assistance and support to all those who lost loved ones or were injured in this attack.

Kondratiev stressed that the target of the attack was civilian infrastructure.

"We are providing all the necessary medical assistance to those who have been injured. Now doctors are helping them. The tragedy claimed the lives of people. We have already repeatedly carried out activities related to the fact that mobile fire groups took critical infrastructure facilities under cover. We must take our beaches under maximum protection. Protect them from enemy drones. We could not even think that drones would attack the beach with vacationers. These are not military facilities, but just peaceful people who were relaxing on the beach with their children. And they became the target of the attack. Therefore, it is important to protect both the beaches and the embankments of our resort towns," Kondratiev said.

According to Kuban 24, a meeting of the anti-terrorist commission and the operational headquarters of the region was held in the region yesterday, where the formation of mobile fire groups (MOG) to protect cities and villages from attacks was discussed. The fighters of the MOGS will serve under a contract with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, but their activities will be limited to the territory of the region. Each participant will receive monthly payments in the amount of 50 thousand rubles.

An operational headquarters has been set up in Arkhipo-Osipovka to coordinate the actions of various services. Currently, five ambulance crews from Gelendzhik are working on the site, and three more brigades have been called from Tuapse. A specialized disaster medicine team has also been requested from Krasnodar. The prosecutor's office assumed control over the observance of citizens' rights in connection with the drone attack.
