Russia and Ukraine held an exchange of prisoners of war prisoners to Easter according to the formula "246 by 246". This is reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
"On April 19, as a result of the negotiation process, 246 Russian servicemen were returned from the territory controlled by the Kiev regime. In return, 246 prisoners of war of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were transferred. Also, as a gesture of goodwill, 31 wounded prisoners of war were transferred in exchange for 15 wounded Russian servicemen in need of urgent medical care,"the Defense Ministry said in a statement.
It is noted that now all Russian servicemen are on the territory of Belarus, they are provided with the necessary psychological and medical assistance, as well as the opportunity to contact their relatives. Later, all fighters will be delivered to Russia for treatment and rehabilitation in medical institutions of the Ministry of Defense.
Upon the return of Russian servicemen from captivity, humanitarian mediation efforts were provided by the United Arab Emirates.
