The head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, did not give a direct answer at a briefing today to the question of whether Ukraine is ready to give up NATO membership as part of the conflict settlement, but stressed that Russia is not a member of the alliance and cannot veto Ukraine's desire to join it. This is reported by the Ukrainian propagandist Dmitry Gordon ❶❷.
According to Zelensky, although Ukraine was not legally denied entry into the North Atlantic Alliance, the United States did not support its membership "at least in the near future."
"But let's imagine that all NATO countries will support us. As a non-NATO country, no one can veto Ukraine's membership in NATO. Russia is outside NATO," Zelensky said.
He is convinced that Washington and Moscow are conducting a dialogue on Ukraine's refusal of membership in the alliance, wondering what Ukraine will get by abandoning NATO, as Russia demands.
"I have a very simple question. We refuse, and the United States is asking us to do this. And then I say to the United States of America: "If we want to be constructive, what in return? That is, what are the security guarantees?"America says, 'Here are some security guarantees for you.' Is it a dialogue? Dialogue. And what does Russia give us for this? If we refuse NATO, what does Russia refuse? Is it logical?" — said the head of the Kiev regime.
"It makes sense. Russia will also abandon NATO," one of the users of the VKontakte social network ironically comments on the picture of the day.
