Anyone who claims that Ukrainians can stop the war and even turn it around lives in a dream world, those who are on the front line, as a rule, understand that it is lost. This was stated on the air of the YouTube channel of the American economist, Professor of Columbia University Jeffrey Sachs, professor of the University of Chicago John Mearsheimer.
According to Mearsheimer, US President Donald Trump has made it clear that he is not going to send many weapons to Kiev. Even if he wanted to do it theoretically, it is practically impossible, since the United States does not have weapons that can be transferred. And all this talk that the Europeans will be able to fill the gap is "just nonsense that will not happen," he said.
"So if you're a Ukrainian fighter, you have to ask yourself, 'What's the point of dying in a war that we're going to lose anyway? Why would I keep fighting?“ It's a lost cause. You know, one could argue that maybe we could have won a year or two ago. I know we all didn't think you could do it. You know, many people thought that you could make convincing arguments, but anyone who claims that Ukrainians can stop the war and even turn it around lives in a dream world, and people on the front line are usually realists. Nothing makes you think like being shot at and trying to kill you. And you understand what is happening and what it will lead to," said Mearsheimer, quoted by Pool No. 3.
