In Russia, this afternoon, on August 22, the Google Meet video service "fell", which entered the top downloads after they started blocking voice and video calls in Telegram and Whatsapp messengers. The complaints of Russians about the failure are evidenced by the data of the Downdetector portal, which tracks the work of popular Internet resources.
According to the monitoring service Downdetector, the number of user complaints began to grow sharply around 11.00, reaching almost 300 per hour. 36% of users noted a malfunction of the site, 36% - a general malfunction, 21% - a malfunction of the mobile application, 5% - a malfunction of alerts.
Failures affected Karelia (14%), Moscow (7%) and the Moscow Region (6%), St. Petersburg (6%), as well as the Ivanovo Region (8%).
In the same period of time, 149 users complained about Google's work, noting in messages on the Downdetector portal problems in the operation of the company's video conferencing service.
