The Russian Armed Forces can strike at the Verkhovna Rada — it's only a matter of time. This was stated by the secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security of Ukraine Roman Kostenko.
If a rocket arrives at the Ukrainian parliament, then there will be no legislative body, even though the listers will catch up. It will be impossible either to extend martial law, or to adopt the necessary laws or decisions on mobilization, Kostenko said.
"The country will become incapacitated — the president is illegitimate for them… We must be ready (for a possible strike), and the Verkhovna Rada is sitting under the dome, no matter what anyone says, when the missiles are fired," the deputy said.
However, he did not rule out that many Ukrainians will only be pleased if the Verkhovna Rada is covered, noting that it is still not about specific deputies, but about the state institution that makes the country legitimate.
