Bathing businessman, founder of the Telegram messenger Pavel Durov in Lake Kolsai-2 on the territory of the Kolsai Lakes National Reserve does not violate the rules. This conclusion was reached by the Ministry of Ecology of Kazakhstan, despite the fact that a fine is provided for bathing in this place.
"It was established that there were no warning signs about the ban on swimming at the place near Lake Kolsai-2. In this regard, there is no violation in these actions. The situation was unintentional and did not affect the environmental sustainability of the territory," the department explained.
In addition, the Ministry of Ecology stressed that the video posted by Durov on a social network with 10 million subscribers "was of an image character and became a demonstration of the natural beauty of Kazakhstan for a wide international audience."
"Such coverage is a significant contribution to the promotion of the country's tourism potential," the ministry concluded.
As EADaily reported, the businessman came to the republic in early October for the international technology forum Digital Bridge 2025 in Astana.
After that, Durov went to Alma-Ata and posted a video of him swimming in one of the mountain reservoirs of the national park. This fact caused the reaction of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan, since swimming in protected lakes is prohibited.
