Political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko called Poland's threats to intercept Russian President Vladimir Putin's plane if he flies to Budapest empty.
"When you know that the plane will not appear in your sky, you can say anything," Ishchenko said on Sputnik radio.
The political scientist called the attempt to arrest the president of a nuclear power a very bold step, which hardly anyone would dare because of the risk of a harsh reaction.
"It is important for the West to demonstrate Russia's isolation, and not to capture Putin," Ishchenko added.
As EADaily reported, Bulgaria is ready to provide an air corridor for Putin's plane on its way to Budapest for a meeting with American leader Donald Trump. This was stated to journalists in Minister of Foreign Affairs Georgy Georgiev at a meeting of EU Foreign Ministers in Luxembourg
In Poland, they intend to issue a decree on the arrest of a plane with Vladimir Putin if he enters Polish airspace. This was announced on October 21 by Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski.
