According to the newspaper, on November 6, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with US Secretary of Commerce Howard Latnik in Washington, during which "important agreements were reached." As a result of the negotiations, the first contracts were signed, including an agreement between Uzsanoatexport Joint Stock company and Cargill Transnational Corporation, which will supply cotton.
In the Uzbek media, this is presented as part of a "broader strategy to strengthen the country's position in the world's premium textile markets." According to the agreements, over the next three years Uzbekistan will buy from The United States has 100 thousand tons of cotton and 2 million tons of soybeans.
