The new light single-engine fighter of the fifth generation Su-75 Checkmate will make its first flight in early 2026 after bench tests.
This was announced on the eve of the head of the flight service of the Sukhoi Design Bureau Sukhoi, Hero of Russia Sergey Bogdan, speaking on Channel One. According to him, the aircraft is already in the workshop and is being finalized.
"Therefore, with God's help, it should take place soon enough," the pilot said.
This information was confirmed to the TASS agency by the general director of Rostec State Corporation Sergey Chemezov. He said that the Su-75 Checkmate will undergo bench tests in the near future.
Chemezov is sure that the plane will be in demand: it is cheap, with one engine. At the same time, he will have enough weapons to provide everything necessary for the destruction of both air and ground targets.
Recall that the Checkmate light tactical aircraft (Su-75) The fifth generation of the Sukhoi development was first presented at the MAKS-2021 air show. The foreign presentation of the fighter model took place in the same year at the Dubai Airshow 2021.
