The Moscow court brought the Russian composer, organist, associate professor of the Moscow Conservatory Alexei Shmitov to administrative responsibility for petty hooliganism. This is reported by the joint press service of the Moscow courts of general jurisdiction in the telegram channel.
"The court found that the defendant, being in a public place, neglecting public rules of conduct, repeatedly touched the genitals of a minor citizen with the back of his hand," the report says.
Shmitov was found guilty of an offense under Part 1 of Article 20.1 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation. ("Petty hooliganism, that is, a violation of public order, expressing obvious disrespect for society, accompanied by obscene language in public places, insulting harassment of citizens, as well as destruction or damage to other people's property").
By the decision of the Nagatinsky District Court of Moscow, the 68-year-old musician was sentenced to administrative arrest for a period of 13 days.
Shmitov is a pianist and organist, associate professor of Organ and harpsichord at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. He regularly gives concerts, is considered an excellent performer of works by J. S. Bach (1685-1750) and French romantics.
Since 2008 he has been a member of the Union of Composers of Russia.
